Paid advertising that pays for itself

Paid search buys you the ground that SEO has not reached yet. Run properly it is a tap you can turn, and run badly it is the fastest way to spend a marketing budget on nothing.

One pound of spend
  1. Searches your ad showed on Broad match, no negatives
  2. Clicks you paid for Ad promising what the page does not
  3. Landed on the right page Paid traffic sent to a homepage
  4. Enquiries you can bank
Nothing here is won with a cleverer bid strategy. All three leaks are settings and a landing page.

Most wasted ad spend is three settings deep

When we take over an account, the money is almost never being lost somewhere clever. It is broad match with no negatives, so you are paying for people searching for a job rather than a quote. It is Display turned on inside a Search campaign by default. It is one ad group covering nine services, pointed at a homepage. It is conversion tracking counting a page view as a lead, which makes everything look fine while the phone stays quiet.

Fixing those four things usually does more for cost per enquiry than any amount of bid strategy tuning. So that is where we start, and we will tell you in the first week if the account is better repaired than rebuilt.

We charge a fixed monthly fee, not a percentage of your spend. A percentage model rewards us for persuading you to spend more, which is a conflict of interest we would rather not have in the room.

What we run and manage

Six campaign types. Few accounts need all of them, and we will say which two you actually want.

  1. 01 Google Ads Management
  2. 02 Google Shopping Ads
  3. 03 Facebook and Instagram Ads
  4. 04 LinkedIn Ads
  5. 05 Remarketing Campaigns
  6. 06 Landing Page Conversion

Channels, and what each is genuinely good at

The channel has to match how your buyer behaves. Picking it the other way round is how budgets disappear.

  • Google Ads logo

    Google Search

Someone is looking for it right now

Highest intent, highest cost per click, and the shortest path to an enquiry

  • Google Shopping

Product, price and picture in the result

Lives or dies on your feed quality, which is where most of the work actually is

  • Performance Max

Every Google surface, decided by the machine

Powerful with good data, a black hole without it. Needs real conversion tracking first

  • Facebook and Instagram

Demand you create rather than capture

Cheap reach, lower intent. Works for offers and visual trades, poorly for emergencies

  • LinkedIn

Reaching a job title rather than a search

Expensive per click and worth it for long B2B cycles. Rarely worth it for anything else

  • Remarketing

The people who already visited and left

The cheapest conversions in the account, and the most commonly neglected

The order the work actually happens in

Four stages. Nothing in stage three is worth buying until stage one has been done, and we will say so rather than invoice for it.

  1. 01

    Fix the measurement first

Conversions that mean an enquiry, not a page view. Calls, forms and bookings tracked properly, because every decision after this one depends on this number being real.

  2. 02

    Narrow the targeting

Match types, negatives, locations, schedules and devices. Most accounts get cheaper in the first month from nothing but subtraction.

  3. 03

Build the landing page the ad deserves

One page per thing you are advertising, answering the search it was triggered by. Sending paid traffic to a homepage is paying full price for a bounce.

  4. 04

    Report against enquiries

Spend, cost per enquiry and what changed, monthly, in writing. Not impressions and not click through rate, neither of which you can bank.

Who this moves most

Not everyone needs this, and the ones who need it least are usually the ones being sold it hardest.

  • Emergency and urgent trades

Someone needs you today. Paid search puts you above the map pack while the local SEO work is still compounding.

  • New sites with no authority yet

Organic takes months. Ads buy you enquiries and, just as usefully, real data about which searches actually convert.

  • Shops with a clean product feed

Shopping and remarketing are the two channels where the maths is visible almost immediately.

  • Anyone with a leaking account

If spend is steady and enquiries are not, the problem is usually structural and it is usually findable in an afternoon.

Questions people ask first

Anything not answered here, ask it on the form. You get a person, not a sequence.

How much should we spend?

Enough to get meaningful data in a month, which for most West Midlands service businesses means a few hundred pounds a week rather than a few hundred a month. Below a certain point you are not testing, you are sampling noise. We will tell you the floor for your sector before you commit.

How do you charge?

A fixed monthly management fee based on the work involved, separate from your ad spend which goes straight to the platform. Not a percentage, because that pays us to grow your budget rather than your return.

Should we do ads or SEO?

Both, in that order, if you can. Ads give you enquiries now and tell you which searches are worth having. SEO makes those searches free eighteen months later. If budget allows only one, the answer depends on how fast you need the phone to ring.

Who owns the ad account?

You do, always. We work inside your account with manager access. If you leave you keep the account, the history and the learning, which is the thing that actually takes time to build.

How quickly will we see results?

Clicks on day one, useful data in two to three weeks, and a cost per enquiry worth judging at six to eight. Anything before that is too small a sample to act on, and acting on it is how accounts get worse.

Do you handle Facebook and Instagram too?

Yes, where they fit. For an emergency trade they rarely do and we will say so. For anything visual, local and offer led they often outperform search on cost per enquiry.
