Local SEO that wins the map pack
Three results sit above everything else on a local search, and they take most of the calls. This is the work that gets you into them, in every town you serve rather than only the one you sit in.
Serving Coventry and the West Midlands. A real audit by a person, back inside two working days.

Ranking in your own town is the easy half
- Your own postcode Top three
- Three miles out Page two
- Five miles out Not showing
Nearly every business we are handed already shows up when somebody searches from the car park outside. Three miles out it is gone, and three miles out is where most of the work is.
That gap has a cause and it is usually the same short list: a profile filled in once and never touched, one thin page trying to cover six services, listings that disagree about the phone number, and no links from anywhere in the county. None of it is exotic. All of it is fixable, in an order that matters.
Local SEO is the part of search that decides whether the phone rings from the next town over. It is also the part with the shortest route from work to enquiry, which is why it is where we start with almost every trade, clinic and professional firm in the region.
Four things decide the map pack
Google has said as much in its own documentation. Everything in this service is one of these four, worked deliberately rather than guessed at.
-
Proximity
How close the searcher is to you. You cannot change it, which is exactly why the other three have to be stronger than everyone within the same few miles.
-
Relevance
How well your profile and your site match what was typed. Categories, services and the words on the matching page all count here.
-
Prominence
How well known you are: reviews, links, citations, press, and what the rest of the web says about you without being asked.
-
Behaviour
What people do once they see you. Calls, direction requests, clicks through to the site and time on the page all feed back in.
Proximity is fixed. The other three are earned, and that is the whole opportunity: in most West Midlands sectors nobody is working all three properly, so the ceiling is lower than it looks.
Six pieces of work, one service
Most accounts need all six, in this order. Some need two. The audit says which, and you are not sold the rest.
-
Google Business Profile Optimisation
Categories, services, products, photos, posts and the attributes Google actually weighs. The profile is half of local, and most are filled in once and forgotten.
What this involves -
Local Citations and NAP
One name, one address format, one number, everywhere a crawler can find you. Conflicting listings are the quiet reason a profile stalls.
-
Local Link Building
Links from the places in your town that a person would actually click: trade bodies, suppliers, the local press, the clubs you sponsor.
-
Multi-Location SEO
Branches that rank separately instead of competing with each other, with profiles, pages and reporting kept distinct per site.
-
Local Landing Pages
A page per service, per town, written for that town. Swapping the city name in a template is how a site ends up with 40 pages and no rankings.
-
Review Generation
A review flow your team will actually follow, so new reviews keep arriving instead of stopping the week the push ended.
What a month actually looks like
Local SEO is maintenance as much as it is building. The accounts that win are the ones where somebody touched the profile this week.
Work is scoped in writing before it starts, and the figure is fixed. Terms are rolling after the first three months.
- Weekly
The profile is worked, not watched
Posts, products and services kept current, photos added with real geotagged originals, questions answered before a competitor answers them for you, and every new review replied to.
- Monthly
Pages get written and shipped
A service page or a town page a month at minimum, researched against what people in that town actually type, not against a national keyword list.
- Monthly
The grid gets checked
A scan across your service radius, so a drop three miles out is caught in the month it happens rather than the quarter it shows up in revenue.
- Monthly
You get one page back
Enquiries, calls, direction requests and the terms that earn money, with what shipped and what is next underneath. In plain English.
Local SEO services, town by town

Local SEO services, sector by sector
Two businesses on the same street can need opposite plans. A restoration firm is fighting for a search made in a panic. A dental practice is fighting for one made over a fortnight. The work changes with the search behind it.

Not sure local is the problem?
Local SEO fixes a visibility problem. It does not fix a slow site, a thin service page or a profile that is already fine. Spending on the wrong one of those is the most common way a budget gets wasted, so it is worth knowing which it is before anybody quotes you.
The audit answers that in writing. If the answer turns out to be technical, we will say so, and you can take the plan elsewhere.
-
You show in the pack, but only from your own postcode
A local problem. The profile, the categories and the local link profile are where it goes.
Local SEO -
You show everywhere, and the site still gets no enquiries
A site problem: speed, structure, or a page that does not answer the search it ranks for.
Technical SEO -
You genuinely cannot tell which
Start with the audit. It separates the two before any money goes anywhere.

How long does local SEO take to work?
The profile and the long tail usually move first, often inside two to three months. A competitive city plus service term, the sort that fills a diary on its own, is more like six to nine. Anyone quoting thirty days is either guessing or buying links you will be cleaning up later.
Can you rank me in a town where I have no address?
Not in the map pack, no. Google ranks the pack on the location Google has for you, and a fake address is a suspension waiting to happen. What we can do is rank the organic results under the pack for that town, which is a real and defensible position, and most service businesses take more enquiries from it than they expect.
Is a Google Business Profile enough on its own?
It is usually the fastest single win and it is never the whole job. The profile and the website feed each other: the pages give Google the relevance signals to trust the profile, and the profile sends behaviour signals back. Businesses that only work the profile plateau, normally about four months in.
What is a local rank grid and why does it matter?
It is the same search run from dozens of points across your service area, so you see your position from each one rather than one average. A single town centre ranking hides the thing that actually costs you money, which is vanishing two or three miles out where half your customers are.
Do you need access to my Google Business Profile?
Yes, as a manager, not an owner. You stay the owner throughout, which means you can remove us at any point and nothing breaks. We will never ask you to transfer ownership, and you should not agree to it for anyone else either.
Will this work if my reviews are thin?
It works better once they are not, so review generation is part of the job rather than an upsell. We will not write reviews, buy them or gate them, because all three are against Google policy and all three are detectable. What we will do is build a flow that asks the right customer at the right moment.
Find out where you disappear
Send us your site and the towns you want. We will run the grid, check the profile, look at who is holding the pack in each one, and send back a prioritised list. Yours to keep, whatever you decide.
